The journey to authentic leadership begins with understanding the story of your life. Authentic leaders work hard at understanding and take responsibility in developing themselves. It requires a commitment to developing yourself. These leaders develop self-awarness and they act on that awareness by practicing their values and principles.
So what does it mean to be a gentleman in the 21st Century? Primarily, it means subscribing to a superior standard of conduct. Being a gentleman is thinking of others, being there when your needed and when you are not needed. Truly it is possible for a man to learn how to be a gentleman if he has the direction/coaching he needs.
The ability for a leader to move people through communications cannot be underestimated. A leader is expected to be organized and confident to present, persuade, inform and to inspire. Leaders should be able to state their organizational needs, represent a position, respond to opinions and build consensus.
